Leveraging AI to Work Smarter
Matthew LeBouef has been the driving force behind BAM's AI Inspector rollout, and he's done something we love to see: he put a camera on it. Matthew recently put together a video walking through his team's actual workflow, field crews capturing handhole deliverables and submitting a production report in real time, followed by his own desktop review process, where the AI grades each photo and Matthew gives it feedback to keep the model learning. It's a clear look at what AI-assisted QC actually looks like day to day, not a demo environment.
His crews feel the difference too. Tony Calderon, a field technician with Empire Drilling who reports into BAM's projects, put it simply:
"Such a time saver, especially compared to other products. Once we became familiar with the tool it became really simple: tap on the handhole or bore line, enter the data, snap a few pictures, then submit the report."
Tony also described how it's changed his day-to-day:
"I can now update production in real time. I no longer need to wait until the end of the day when my crews send in completed bore logs. I see where they are working for the day, wheel out the footages as they're drilling, and update Vitruvi. No longer working at the house until 9-10pm trying to gather daily production."
